This weekend my pastor started a sermon series on Keywords. It's a fun concept since you never know what he's gonna throw at you. He started with PROCRASTINATION. As he taught and shared scripture, something became clear to me. I'm lazy. That wasn't the main or only focus of his teaching, but it was the one that applied to me.
Proverbs 6:6 Go to the ant, you sluggard! The ant has no personal trainer! The ant gets the job done anyway. She puts her laundry away without her mother there to demand it be removed from the living room. She never considers letting food harden on her dirty dishes. She goes for a run before work. She does TODAY what needs to be done for a better TOMORROW. She's not about immediate gratification. She's not lazy.
Consider her ways and be wise,
7 Which, having no captain,
Overseer or ruler,
8 Provides her supplies in the summer,
And gathers her food in the harvest.
Maybe wishing to be rich is all wrong. Maybe I should wish to be an ant.
